The basic purpose for the existence of STARFLEET is to provide entertainment to our membership. This entertainment takes many shapes and forms and the STARFLEET Marine Corp certainly falls into that category. Many of our membership enjoy this fictional side of the Fleet experience and should be allowed to continue to do so. There is certainly precedent in the Star Trek genre with regards to such fictional military incantations. From the MACO's of "Enterprise" to the Dominion Wars of "Deep Space Nine", a military presence can be seen woven throughout the Star Trek experience. The STARFLEET Marine Corp will play a key role in working with the "Navy" side of our organization in helping to promote fun and friendship throughout our organization.

Semper Fidelis, latin for "Ever Faithful" has been the enduring motto of the United States Marine Corp. This motto has been adopted by the STARFLEET Marine Corp and should be the foundation that makes up the basic core values that drives its activities within our organization. The office of the VCS believes that the STARFLEET Marine Corp should be fierce defenders of all the values that are represented in the Star Trek universe and that the STARFLEET Marine Corp should remain faithful to those ideals. We will look to the STARFLEET Marine Corps to set the tone for our organization, in setting an example of what it means to be a STARFLEET member. Its up to each and every STARFLEET Marine to conduct themselves in a manner that will bring honor to the uniform they wear and the organization that they have pledged to defend.

The office of the VCS will look to the STARFLEET Marine Corp's expertise in their outstanding system of recognition within the Corp to work in cooperation with the "Naval" side of things on a system of medals and ribbons that will help promote an increase in morale and pride for the many outstanding services that "Naval" members provide. Its this kind of cooperative spirit that will help STARFLEET grow and prosper well into the future.
